The Southeast Florida TRN’s mission is to serve those children and adults who have suffered from a natural or man-made disastrous event. We will provide, pro bono, up to five 90-minute sessions to individuals using early EMDR intervention protocols and, if appropriate, the full eight-phase protocol.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) is a powerful psychotherapy originally developed to treat trauma and PTSD. It has been practiced around the world for the past 25 years and is an accepted treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder by the American Psychiatric Association, Veterans Administration, Department of Defense, World Health Organization, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.
Trauma Recovery, EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs (EMDR/HAP) focuses its efforts on building the capacity of under-served communities to secure effective trauma treatment through proper training and developing local Trauma Recovery Network (TRN) chapters.
